Some time ago, our Public Certificate Authority changed the 'Department' field in their own portal, which made it inconsistent with what was configured on our CUCM at the time of the next certificate renewal. I reiterate, this was a change made by a Certificate Authority.
Now because CUCM doesn't let Administrators edit all the fields when generating certificate requests, we had to log a TAC case, get an Engineer to access the CUCM via Root, and edit the XML string to the Department name which our Public CA had started using. Then when we generated the CSR, it contained what we now needed as the Department name.
Sorry, but this is just stupid. All this stuffing around just to align with what a Certificate Authority did. Give Administrators the ability to edit fields in Cisco Unified Communications Manager and Cisco Unified Presence Server when generating CSRs.
