Ability to hit the up arrow to start editing my previous message

Almost every other chat application I use that supports editing messages (Discord, Telegram, Slack, etc) all allow pressing the Up arrow key to start editing the previous message. As it is right now, I have to use the mouse to click the edit icon, which really slows down my flow when I make a small typo as I'm not able to continue using the keyboard.

Ideally, I could hit Up multiple times to choose which message to edit as I may have made a mistake on a message before that last one, but that's more of a nice to have. At the very least, I would be thrilled to be able to edit the last message by pressing up.

Was this feature added and then removed? I thought I had accidentally discovered it at one point a year or two ago, but then it stopped working again and hasn't worked since.

So close... It's great that this feature has been added, but when you finish editing your message and hit enter or cancel, focus is not returned to the message input box, and you still need to reach for your mouse to re-select the message area (or use the not-so-obvious shortcut key ctrl+shift+i).
