in the new webex suite meeting experience the meeting chat is now as rich as the webex teams chat. Added features such as replies, reactions, edit, forward, etc are all available.
this experience is now in the rollout phases (by org)

I assume OP is referring to Webex Meetings that are joined from the Webex Teams client. Cross-platform chat is not available in this case. This would be HUGELY beneficial to have.
