The feature as its written today is, the message will persist for users who were sent the message. The host can choose to message one/selected few/all. For any new users who join lobby AFTER host has sent this message, it will not be visible. However, I can see this is useful. We will evaluate the persistent message concept for all incoming users. Thanks for the input.
Right now, this feature is in the backlog and doesn't have any timelines associated with it.

@Pooja - do you know a timeline for this feature? We are really excited about it - will be VERY helpful in our process. I'd also like to know the answer to Dominic's question!

@Pooja - will this message also appear for anyone that joins the lobby after I have sent the message? I wouldnt want to have to keep sending it.

We have a feature in the roadmap that addresses this. We are adding ability for hosts to send a message (to one or everyone waiting). This message will appear on their screen while they are waiting.
