Make a New App to Mimic Google Voice

I would like to formally request that Cisco create a brand new app to handle calling, texting, and voicemail. There is no need to bundle these features on the mobile platform into the meetings/teams nightmare.

Keep. It. Simple. Stupid. (a.k.a. KISS)

You know who did this perfectly? Google. Has anyone at Cisco used the Google Voice app? It is utterly fantastic by comparison. You can call, you can text, you can access your voicemails, and adjust all of your other VOIP settings from the app as well as from the web. Almost nothing changes in the app as it does what it is supposed to do, nothing more, nothing less.

I have heard countless complaints from my clients who are all using WebEx, so much so that they are on the verge of cancelling services. They much prefer apps like Ring Central and even Zoom.

Please take a step back and realize you've made a mistake trying to emulate Teams... Please look into the plethora of problems that Teams users have with these same exact features. You are competing with everyone for no-one, the end users DO NOT HAVE A CHOICE, thus you are not getting the proper feedback to make good decisions.

You are crippling our businesses with these asinine all-in-one applications...

    Seongho,

We're still awaiting your response... you've done quite the terrible job in customer relations here. You've only added to my frustration and the lack of any response from Cisco here is disturbing and likely a direct result of you erroneously marking this idea as 'Already exists'.

We have proven here that you were wrong in your assumptions, and your suggestion is irrelevant and irrational.

Do the right thing... re-open this idea and have a proper discussion.

    Hi Seongho,

Strange how quickly you commented initially, but now that you have been called-out for lying and poor quality responses, you have nothing to say.

I would ask that you thoroughly review and investigate every idea before jumping to any conclusions based on your personal understanding of the system.

Did you know your feedback link at the bottom of this website is broken? I literally have no other way of communicating beyond this comment feed and creating a duplicate idea. Please don't make me duplicate this idea, I am very tired of playing these games.

    Kind Regards,
    Alex

I notice that this was closed as "Already exists"... Does texting on Webex for Broadworks already exist?

    Seongho,

This calling only mode, does it affect the entire user or does it only impact the mobile app? Obviously on the PC, having the full feature set would be preferred.

Regardless... on the PC, I would still prefer to have the calling app exist separately from the meetings app. This would allow for me to close the calling app whilst I am at my desk or on-site with a client, but the WebEx app could remain open as needed.

This all-in-one app is not convenient for me, it is only convenient for you and your profit margin. Everything was much better when we had the previous generation of VOIP-only apps, despite their headaches at least it only had the one intended use-case.

You will never convince me that the Swiss Army app we have today is the best solution. You are clearly not listening to my complaint, and you only desire to "close the ticket" as soon as possible to meet your KPI target.

I would like to speak with your manager.

Seongho, what version of Webex allows for business texting? We currently use Webex for Broadworks and there is no texting option. How do we make this available and if it is not available, why?
I recently read on Forbes a very upbeat piece focusing about how Webex is planning on defeating Zoom but I fail to believe this if all versions of Webex do not have texting as we are losing customers to Zoom by lacking this basic feature. Please inform Jeetu Patel of this shortcoming and I look forward to a response.

Here is a quick screenshot of the Webex App on iPhone running in the calling only mode. The business texting is not turned on on this inage but it will show up when turned on.

Hi. Thanks for the idea. We truely believe that the value of the Webex App can be fully maximized when all the collaboration workloads are enabled. However, if the customer wants to use the Webex App only for a specific workload such as calling, they can run the Webex App today in the calling only mode and by doing so the Webex App will do exactly what you just described. So I don't think we need to create a new app.
