Create Dedicated Softphone App

Do not try to dismiss my request as a "feature that already exists" as I assure you, it doesn't.

Firstly, we use the Broadworks back-end, so you - Cisco - do not support texting whatsoever on this platform.

Secondly, every single client has complained to us about various portions of the WebEx app which are a direct result of the bag-o-things approach where you are stuffing every possible collaboration feature into a single app. This is dirty and in the entire history of development has not resulted in a bloated over-weight application that is a disruption to the system on which it is running.

We do not want this bundled WebEx app anymore because you are incapable of providing us with the features we require to run a successful business.

I am requesting that Cisco create a true softphone application which perfectly emulates a physical desk phone with only ONE additional feature not currently available on said desk phones - SMS/MMS messaging.

Your goal should be to mimic Google Voice, and you should always remember the main focus is that of a phone. The phone always needs to work, and it cannot be hindered or interrupted by any other features that come bundled in your bloated WebEx app today.

No, disabling the meeting features is not an option as this disables those features across the board for every variant of the WebEx application. This was already proposed and is not what we are asking for. We do not wish to outright disable the meetings feature only to get the bloated WebEx app that can only handle calling.

A direct note to any potential response from a Cisco employee who might think of responding to this idea... if you have never used Google Voice, you need to step back and leave this idea for someone who has. You aren't helping us, and you certainly aren't helping yourself.
