WebEx Calling Call Forking and Diversion

References:

  • WXCUST-I-6896 : Cristobal Jimenez Priego's WebEx calling ringing multiple devices at the same time

  • WXCUST-I-13379 : Saif Ananbeh's Sync ringing between the Webex app SIP calls and IP-phone

This may already exist in part or whole per Praveen Kumar Garlapati (Admin)'s reply to Guest referencing Webex App - Supported calling options.

As a user, I want the ability to associate one or more SIP URIs with my WebEx account and have calls forked to those SIP endpoints simultaenously (as in multiple AORs and SCA) and/or diverted to those SIP endpoints -- primarily divert on no reply.

Scenario 1 - I am using and am signed-into WebEx App
  • Incoming call, either from another WebEx App user (within or outwith my organisation)

  • Incoming call, within or outwith my organisation by them calling me@myorg.calls.webex.com

Result:
  • Ringing in my WebEx App

  • Simultaneous ringing to my designated SIP end-points

  • Ringing to others of my designated SIP end-points on no reply (me not answering in-app)

Scenario 2 - I am Not using or am Not signed-into WebEx App
  • Incoming call, either from another WebEx App user (within or outwith my organisation)

  • Incoming call, within or outwith my organisation by them calling me@myorg.calls.webex.com

Result:
  • Immediate ringing to my designated SIP end-points

Business Justification

We're multi-platform -- having meetings with others on their preferred platform.

So, we're unlikely to be running and signed-into WebEx App continously. That's because desktop/smartphone don't handle running multiple different platform vendors' Apps simultaneously well (esp. camera contention).

When we're "in" WebEx, we're mostly happy enough to take WebEx calls there (though there's nothing more convenient than just lifting the receiver or pushing answer on a videophone).

When we're not, or can't be "in" WebEx, but receive a WebEx call, we don't want whoever is calling us to go unanswered..

SIP/2.0 100 trying -- your call is important to us

So we want those calls to ring (at the same time or after a delay) at our other SIP end points.
