webex status on phone shows inactive after minimizing the application

When the app is minimized on the phone and then reopened, users' statuses update in the chat window but do not show them as active. Instead, the status only shows as active if they text or call someone in their user list. Additionally, when users log into the WebEx app, their status appears greyed out to themselves, and others see them as inactive. Users must repeatedly sign in or send a text or call someone to change their status to active.
