We have a very large customer with multiple CUCM Clusters and are moving all the video endpoints to CUCM off of VCS. The customer workforce moves around frequently. They absolutely require on-premises Voice and Video solutions.
They need a Single Number for Life Concept, and they need to be able to call a person, not just a device, and be able to place and receive calls with the same Caller ID no matter where they are.
In the Testing / Design phase, we have discovered that DX80's do not appear to support Extension Mobility Cross Cluster (EMCC). Extension Mobility works within a cluster, but it does not appear to work between clusters. This customer is heavily invested in DX80's as both Personal Endpoints and small Huddle Room areas. They are also looking at room kit mini's and the new WebEx Desk Pro. Often times the customer will have both a 8800 Series Phone and a DX80 at their Desk, but when they travel or if they move to another one of their customer locations, they would not be able to sign in to the DX80 via EMCC.
