Virtual webcams have been disabled in the latest webex update.

Snap Camera, ManyCam, Logictech, Visicom Media Inc, Blackmagic Design Inc, Telestream LLC, Wizards of OBS LLC, Kinoni Oy, Boinx Software Ltd, Ecamm Network LLC, NewTek Inc all provide Webcam plugins using CoreMediaIO DAL and this new update (because hardened runtime was enabled) has disabled all the plugins. You will need to whitelist these webcams or enable "disable-library-validation" in your entitlements to fix this. https://developer.apple.com/documentation/bundleresources/entitlements/com_apple_security_cs_disable-library-validation?language=objc

GoPro Webcam is also broken, this will affect a huge amount of users.

Zoom had a similar issue, and they fixed it in their 5.0.4 update without enabling disable-library-validation by whitelisting the known plugins:

Select Preferences after clicking on your profile picture. Select the camera you want to use from the Camera drop-down list after clicking Video. Your system administrator may or may not enable virtual cameras. Visit this website vmware virtual for more information

I'm confused why third party cameras are showing up Webex Meetings but not on Webex Teams. I imagine whoever fixed this in Webex Meetings could do the same for the flagship application?

Piling onto this one. FWIW, Teams can't pick up OBS Virtual Cam streams either.

At this point, Webex has so many issues with background replacement, virtual cams, Meetings features missing in Teams, confusing Teams UI, etc. that one has to wonder whether Cisco has cut its development budget or something. It's so far behind Zoom for casual videoconferencing the difference is mind boggling.

    Hi,

at our university we are forced to to hybrid teaching. We need a camera that shows different content, not only the speaker. for example a lab experiment. We do this with virtal cams like obs studio! We really need this! Whats wrong with virtual cams, why do you disable it!

we cant do our teaching without it! please support!

Recommending supporting NDI standard if possible.

No Virtual Camera and Lack of breakout room in meetings will leave us no choice but switching to Zoom. :(

We will definitely need this for the coming semester for our more sophisticated distance learning courses.
