Separate setting for popup notification from in-window notifications

The in-window notifications (the space name in bold faced text or blue dot next to it) are really only useful if the personal setting is "All messages". But that currently also means that a notification popup shows up for every new message. I want to be able to set it up so that :

  • @Mentions create a popup

  • Other messages in spaces that I have not muted create a blue dot next to the name

  • Muted channels I want to keep track of occasionally only show bold face

  • Other channels that I really do not care about should never show bold face or blue dot. But possibly @Mention popup.

The real problem here is that the application has failed to distinguish between the notion of:

Notifications: Sounds an pop-ups that occur when a new message arrives

Unread Message Markers: The blue dots (and blue "@" symbols) that indicate the presence of unread messages in a conversation (not a notification - and indicator)
