Allow Nickname or First Name change for Enterprise orgs with Directory Connector

This is a common request from our end users that have a preferred first name that is different from the legal first name however since we have Directory Connection sync, changing the name is locked (unavailable).

I know we can probably do other things from the AD side, AD-LDS, etc. but I would prefer if there's something that can be done from the Webex side.

At minimum, I would like to request the option for an admin to set a preferred name for an end user from Control Hub.

I know via API query there's a field called NickName. Is that used for anything? Maybe this can be the solution?

I tried changing the NickName via API but it is blocked.

Maybe Cisco can expose that field or a new field in the control hub user page so that a Control Hub admin can easily set users a preferred first name upon user request?

I would likely be opposed to having users be allowed to change it themselves as this can cause other headaches.

    This is possible in Jabber with directory synchronised users (Right Click Contact > Edit Profile > Display name) . We have many users who have added personal display names for users within their client. We are in the process of migrating to Webex and this is a loss of functionally we are getting push back on.
