The Webex Meetings Scheduler add-in for O365 does not offer all functionality that Productivity Tools currently offers. The Webex scheduler currently only offers a standard webex meeting or a personal room. Exec Admins, delegates and users need the ability to schedule Events as well. No ability exists to do an ad hoc meeting (Meet now)
We have added the ability to schedule a Webinar to the Schedule and join webinars with Webex Scheduler for Microsoft Outlook. We are also planning on adding Start an Instant Meeting/Meet Now in the Webex app, but are unable to add such functionality using the Microsoft Outlook Add-in framework.
We are an APPLE organisation that uses webex enterprise. As the webex scheduler online is very limited and we have specific requirements i.e. recipients can see who else will join the meeting we use Outlook for MAC to schedule our meetings. For this we are currently using the Productivity tools for MAC. However I recently received information that the Prductivity tools for MAC will cease and that we should switch to outlook scheduler in Outlook. Now here comes the problem. In order to use this, you need to be a 365 user, and we as organisation are not and we can also not just for a simple integration switch as you can imagine.
We need Webex to come up with a solution to solve this problem for NON 365 users in order for them to keep using Outlook on Mac. I also understand that the productivity tools on windows will keep working. It all looks to me like a very simple integration issue that just needs to be applied to APPLE users who aren't 365 customers. It can't be that Webex will force international organisations like ours to just switch to 365. Very unrealistic.
I wanted to raise this sooner than later, because the last thing I need is to wake up one morning with my telephone red hot as nobody can use Outlook any more to schedule meetings. We are all using these digital services because of the Pandemic, our day to day business now relies on this, this has brought great revenues to Cisco, so the least we can expect is to have full flexibility when it comes to integration of products.
