Our Zoom contract expires soon, so we have time, but this is going to become an issue soon enough. Below are a list of features we feel are missing from Webex Events that prevent it from being a viable replacement to Zoom Webinars:
Ability to lock down an event to just users of Webex site (e.g. only valid org.webex.com users can join)
Watermarking of content (at a min), would love username watermark over entire video
Ability to Start Events from Meetings app
Removal of mandatory browser extension to cross-launch meetings app (to join an event) – this exists for meetings, why not events?
When using plain text event invite email, invitation accepts receive a bounce back because the “reply-to” field of the message appends a trailing “space” – this causes an unknown destination on the receiving mail server. I have tried to hack a fix for this with no luck
Event co-hosts should be able to edit the event and share approval duties. Currently, the poor sap who sets up the event has to bear the burden of all approvals and editing. I see that you can reassign an event, but this is not the same as sharing
Host/Panelists should be able to hide their videos during the event. Some times you need a moderator and not a pull presenter/panelist, their video shouldn’t be seen by attendees
When starting a practice session, instead of attendees seeing “the panelists are in a practice session”, they should see a welcome slide the host uploads. Or simply a customizable text that appears in-place of what’s currently there. Attendees shouldn’t care where the panelists are, just that the event will start shortly
A Co-host should literally be a co-host and not just someone who can claim host. This would allow sharing of in-meeting responsibilities like muting/un-muting, expelling, etc...
You should be able to disable inbound PSTN, but still allow “call me”. Currently there is no security challenge for PSTN dial-ins. If you enable “require registration ID”, this ONLY applies to users of the Clients and not phone participants. They get to bypass this critical security challenge and join the event with zero association to a registered user. -- The current work around is to just disable PSTN entirely and force VoIP only
Ability to “close” registration and set a registration window
There is no way to approve late registrants once the meeting has started – Edit event disappears once the host starts the event. This is problematic when you require registration IDs and you HAVE to allow a late entry
I am sure I have a few more, but as you can see there are //some// deficiencies here that make the tool difficult to use
Happy to discuss further!
Cheers,
Matt
Many web meeting users are looking for "Watermarking". We as a DLP company, have developed a tool called MonGuard for screen watermark. Pls contact me via kentl#coworkshop.com for a download. www.coworkshop.com

This item already exists in Webex Events.

Cisco - Are all these requests for future consideration? If not, please list here which one are.

Panelists can't join from the browser. panelists want to participate from a browser.

If ONLY these 4 items alone were added, it would be a HUGE Advantage!!

Also, great suggestions!

You can upload your presentation before you move into the practice session so when you attendees join, they will see your slide and unfortunately that big yellow banner saying they are in a Practice Session. Once you are in the practice session you can upload the slides so your panelist can review. https://help.webex.com/en-us/npxgiei/Conduct-a-Practice-Session-in-Cisco-Webex-Events

Option to remove video thumbnail of others when sharing content. Even when active speaker is selected and the other panelists are muted, once content is shared all panelist thumbnails come up.

Terribly unprofessional look. Even during a live Cisco event I saw the screen that 'the panelists were in a practice session'. What are you guys thinking? C'mon lets get the ball rolling on this one in particular.

This has come up several times. The Events center is not the easiest to manage. Would be ideal if someone could assist. Great suggestion!

Nice list of required features. We also don't have live captioning feature of WebEx event. I came to know its only available for US customers. When it will be available for other part of world? Closed captioning option is available in WebEx event? Virtual Background change?
