Although the feature technically exists today, it has never been useful as you literally need to scream into the microphone for it to trigger the "your microphone is muted" message. I have tested this across many different companies, users, and devices, all with the same results.
The feature is literally useless in its current state. How did this pass QA? The sensitivity simply needs to be raised to detect when someone is speaking (not screaming).
