I think we should prioritize the user experience. We can offer a good collaboration tool, but... in the end, the most important thing is if the meetings were effective for the people assisting them. The tool should make the collaboration between peopel easy and not less efficient because technical limitations with the product.

From time to time, I assist a meetings where people have ultra-wide screens and they share the screen and then attendees of the meeting do not see properly the shared screen.

Or my self when I share from my set up the screen (I have only one 4K screen), I would love to have some parts of the screen where I have sensitive information or things that I need to check, or a notes tool that I use for this meeting, I would like to keep the area hidden to my attendees and only share part of my screen (also because of resolution reasons, the attendees some times they have a full HD screen I do not want to change every time the settings of my screen to move from 4k to 1080). And for me is not a good Work Around to share only one APP and not the screen, I guess that all of us suffered from this, you want to share two things at the same time with the customer to show him how the dots connect between two apps and then you cannot do it...

There are other reasons why it could be very beneficial, but I think these are the main ones.

Sharing in Full featured Webex Meetings has been updated to allow application sharing to only share the actual Application Windows. Users that use the Webex App can also share a custom defined area of the screen.

We are adding support to share individualy application windows to help with the issues with very large displays. We are evaluating solutions for selecting a specific region of the display, but have not committed this work.

This is very important for users with ultrawide screens.

We have a few instructors who specifically need this feature since they use Presenter mode with notes.

Handily this would also allow applications like PowerPoint that have presenter view to be used to share slides whilst the presenter views their notes.
