Enhance Whiteboarding Features

Please enhance whiteboarding features across the Webex platform. Things like persistant whiteboards, virtual sticky notes, drag-and-drop shapes would all help us empower our engineers to be more collaborative during the new normal of Work @ Home. Keeping in mind that not everyone can have access to a Webex Board or a Desk Pro/DX80. Integration with a technology from Miro would be great!

Would it be possible to get an update on the progress of enhancements @Jon Fanebust?

Thanks for raising this and appreciate all the ideas!

We are working on enhancing the whiteboard functionality - both on devices in our Apps. This includes the feature set in the native whiteboard app that will be enhanced over the coming cycles. We are also looking at closer integrations with 3rd parties, although a lot is already possible using browser on the Webex Board or Desk Pro, or even using touch redirect to connect a PC directly.

We have requests from customers to add Visio type templates for workflows, network diagrams and city planning to Whiteboarding.

We have a lot of requests for Miro so like functionality would be a blessing. With WFH, whiteboarding / corkboard / collaboration boarding has become vital to improve collaboration capabilities.

While you're at it, please improve the whiteboard UI in Webex Teams. Currently, it opens in the main Webex window, and clicking the "X" in the top-right corner closes the entire Teams app, which causes a lot of confusion for users. Clicking the "hamburger" menu on the left seems to be the proper way to close it, but this is not intuitive at all.

In a shared whiteboard, for drawing near existing objects I need to press Ctrl also for pointing at existing drawing objects I need to press Ctrl. I would be better to have to press Ctrl for moving objects, in other words to reverse the working of the Ctrl key.

It would also be nice to see drawing objects as they are made, not only when they are done.

It would also be great to have an option for importing pictures, shapes, draw straight lines and add links to websites inside a whiteboard

I really would appreciate virtual sticky notes and drag-and-drops to do proper exercises in my trainings!

Completely agree! Now, more than ever, we need to be able to reimage many of the must-have features of offices, such as whiteboards. Because employees may not have access to tablets/styluses at home, adding whiteboarding features that can be used with a trackpad/mouse would be valuable. Enhanced virtual sticky notes and drag-and-drop shapes would be so helpful. Whiteboarding features in Webex Teams are a start, but could be developed further, and they need to be able to utilized consistently across the Webex platform and in Webex Meetings.
