Global Mute Keyboard Shortcut

I use Ctrl + M to mute/unmute my audio but it requires the Webex Meetings window to be focused. I'd like the ability to use this shortcut even while the app is not in focus.

It would also be nice to be able to customize the keyboard shortcut keys and add the option to make them global

    It should not be a problem to make a customizable global shortcut in the Webex App.
    Then, everyone has the option to define his own shortcut.
    Some use keyboards with special keys, where a shortcut can be placed perfectly (for example F13)

    It would be really great being able to indicate that CTRL-M (today being used for mute/unmute) should be available globally or not. When globally available it allows you to press CTRL-M to mute/unmute yourself, even when the Webex app does not have focus. It would also allow for a potential physicial "mute/unmute" button :-). I typically always mute myself to avoid background noise when not talking but sometimes it takes a while to "unmute".

    Please don't make shortcuts global only. I've already lost the Ctrl-L laser pointer shortcut in PowerPoint to end meeting in Webex

    This would be hugely useful, perhaps even something customizable like allowing play/pause to mute/unmute so that we could control it from our headphones without having to be directly at the computer.

    @Sanjay,

    There are various ways to register global hotkeys in Windows and MacOS. Here's one example for Windows:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/api/winuser/nf-winuser-registerhotkey

    Zoom has the ability to specify custom hotkeys/shortcuts and make each one global or application focused.

    If user is on different application when not focused on Webex, wouldn't the hot keys or spacebar be required by that application?

    Love this idea. I like that you can unmute with spare bar now but I'd really like a hotkey that works globally without having to have the Webex window focused.

    It would be great to use the space bar for this function. Possibly even provide an option for it to work PTT based on user preference settings.
