Integrate external (CUCM, LDAP and 3rd party) directories for contact search in Webex

Currently, the Webex client can only use the existing cloud directory contacts for searches. Meaning that the contact information has to be synced to the cloud from your on-prem database (through the Directory Connector) in order to be reflected in the Webex app. Contact details for users who are not added to the Cloud will not be displayed.

UCM calling users would like to have the option to integrate external directories in order to utilize more resources and have additional contacts who are not listed in the cloud directory.

The Webex solution divides the world into users and contacts, where users are in the directory and contacts exist outside your organization. In both cases, users and contacts must be either imported into Webex or synchronized from other systems.

The process for importing/synchronization is covered in this help article: https://help.webex.com/en-us/article/nk5whej/Synchronize-User-and-Organizational-Contacts

Support for external contacts outside of UCM: "For on-premises deployments, organizational contacts are configured in the LDAP server as contact objects or in the Cisco Unified Communications Manager as end-users." So there are flexible options for importing/synching contact solutions from external systems.

We are unlikely (in the short term) to implement user/contact synchronization outside of this paradigm.

This is essential for some organization migrating from Jabber to Webex in UCM mode to allow non-user contacts to be configured at the enterprise level.

What's the list of UCM calling customers impacted by this contacts search ask, along with the user counts blocked on moving from Jabber to Wx app ?

Also is this for Jabber (UCM) to Wx app (UCM), or for Jabber (UCM) to Wx app (Wx Calling) ?
