Show associate on a call to prevent transfer

while we are working on the phones we are attempting to transfer/consult to an associate. however do not want to be able to transfer if the associate is on a call, Can we see what status that the associate is on to prevent calls being sent to an associate who is already on the phone with another customer. OR Prevent the transfer or consult based on the fact that they are on a call
