VIMT Show Avatars sync'ed from Microsoft Teams

Currently, we use directory sync(with avatar sync) on the webex side, and we use the CVI product to allow our webex devices to join MS Teams meetings. When joining from a Cisco endpoint through CVI the avatars are gone. The same avatars exist on the Webex side, and on the MS side. The avatars should be visible if you use Webex, Teams, or CVI. Not a huge ask, but would be a huge win for all parties.

Although one would think this is easy to implement it is not so. The problem is that the avatars are unique to the UUID of the participant joining the meeting. When a Video Endpoint joins a CVI meeting, that endpoint is a single connection to the Microsoft Teams meeting. The Microsoft Teams meeting provides a roster list with a Microsoft UUID, not the Webex UUID for each participant. So, it is not quite straightforward to just request an avatar in Webex for a Microsoft UUID without a lot of cross-lookups. We will consider it in the future.
