Lower RoomKit Ultrasound volumes without triggering alerts in Control Hub or codec

Lowering the Ultrasound volumes has triggered alerts in Control Hub “Ultrasound Pairing May Fail - Automatic pairing with this device via ultrasound may not work.

Amgen just finished hard setting all of the Ultrasound volumes on RoomKit and Shares to a static/fixed level (values listed below).

Lowering these levels reduces the distance of how far someone can connect DTA w Proximity automatically (prevent disrupting occupied meetings from outside the conf room).

This would force someone to manually search for the room if they are out of range, which will challenge them with the 4 digit code that is displayed only in the room.

Lowering the Ultrasound volumes has triggered alerts in Control Hub “Ultrasound Pairing May Fail - Automatic pairing with this device via ultrasound may not work. Log into the device web portal and increase the ultrasound volume on the device” for most RoomKits.

If you log into the RoomKit it does not always indicate this alert/error.

Having all of these RKs in an already active alert state, the holistic overview of Amgen Cisco WebEx devices is not as useful considering any new “Issues/alerts” would not be identified in CH.

  • LARGE (Project rooms – Pro/Plus): Proximity Ultrasound should be static (35)

  • MEDIUM (bookable & ad-hoc rooms – Std RoomKit): Proximity Ultrasound static (30)

  • SMALL (ad-hoc rooms- RK Mini): Proximity ultrasound should be static (25)

  • Cisco Shares: Proximity ultrasound should be (5) (no static option – use CH to set vol)

  • All Bi-Amp rooms: Proximity ultrasound should be static (39)
