Bring Back the On-Screen Display Menu

We have telephone directories, last numbers dialed, etc. that used to be obtainable through the OSD Menu from our third-party touch panels, which is no longer available for our users. Why is the use of the OSD Menu not recommended any longer? Why would a new product have less capability? This is unacceptable to our Government/Military users.
