Recording capabilities for co-host in meetings/events

In the past the co-host of a meeting/event had the capability of recording the session, this option is no longer available. We have a group of our users who routinely have co-host and in the past they had the option of recording the session . I have been told the host has to change co-host to host role. Would like to see this as option so host does not have to change role of co-host to host.
