Here people do not find that “register” link or button because there is a form to the right and so, the natural instinct is to go fill that out. And when that doesn’t work (they get a message that says: this event has not started), they will either 1) come back to the page and persevere, 2) try to contact us with a question, or 3) give up. I say this because we had people reaching out several times telling us they couldn’t register and I found out they were simply filling out the form on the page to join the event instead of clicking on the Register link or button (whch is situated at the end of the page and not very visible)

If making the register button more visible/prominent is not possible, could we at least change the verbiage of this sentence:

Registration is required to join this event. If you have not registered, please do so now.
