Prioritize audio/video sources like Jabber

Can we resurrect the ability to prioritize the audio inputs and outputs? This was a great feature in Jabber! It would be great to prioritize video inputs as well.

This feature was great for people who bounced between two or more work environments. Once they sorted the AV inputs, they rarely had to mess with switching inputs when moving from one office to the other.

Speech should be transmitted with priority, otherwise syllables or words will be missing quickly.

    Problem:

This is currently only supported by hard phones, but not by Jabber, since voice counts as normal PC traffic in this case and is therefore "best effort".

    Remedy:

    You can create a policy:

    Press Win-R and start "gpedit.msc".

Under Computer Policies, create a "Policy-Based QoS" policy.

DSCP = 46 (check with your needs)

Application or URL --> add app like CiscoJabber.exe and/or CiscoCollabHost.exe

    IP addresses: any to any

Protocol & Ports: TCP & UDP, any to any

We have created a company policy and automatically rolled it out to all clients. It works fine.
