Select schedule meeting template when scheduling from the Webex app

Now we cannot use the Webex meetings template when scheduling a meeting from the Webex app.

We can only use the template when we schedule a meeting on the browser.

    Webex app in-app scheduler uses the Scheduled Meeting template from Site (Control Hub) Admin Email Templates.

    I am surmising based on your response you are not referring to the Meeting Invitation Templates (aka Admin Email Templates). Instead, you might be referring to the Scheduling Custom Meeting Templates. If so, you are right this only exists today in the Site Scheduler, Webex Scheduler for Microsoft Outlook, and the end-of-development Productivity Tool.

    We are looking at adding the ability to specify which features you want to include in the in-app Scheduler in the mid-term (not immediately). What specific settings are you looking at adding to the in-app scheduler? We want to understand the actual use case instead of just adding the same thing to the in-app Scheduler.

    We are aware that we want to allow the end-user to select options where previously the only way to get those options was to have a drop-down box for a Session/Meeting Type.

    This particular issue is about the thing labelled "Meeting templates" available after the "schedule" button was pressed. The button previously launched the web page which allowed the selection of meeting templates; now it opens a screen within the application itself that doesn't even understand time zones and daylight saving (SR 694233937).

    It's not the first time that Webex has suffered "upgrades" that significantly degraded functionality; the last change removed the (very useful) facility to clone a meeting. Every time bugs like this are introduced customers are going to ask themselves "why don't I just use Microsoft Teams?" (competing in the same space and "free" to many people, as in included within an existing licence).

    I am talking about the in-app option for sheduling meetings. I am using the new Webex app V_42.8 and still cannot find the option to select a meeting template or meeting type.

    In the old Webex-Meetings-App the user was automatically redirected and logged in to his Webex-Account on our Webex-Site where he could select meeting template and meeting type.

    A real use case for example is:

    • The users have one standard meeting type and at least one for E2E-encrypted meetings, so they need to choose and verify the meeting type for different meetings depending on the security level of the meeting.


    But this being said, for me an our users it is only intersting if the new app is working better than or at least as good as the old one and that is not the case right now.


    I expect this feature (at least the option to choose the meeting type) to be available way before we are forced to use the new app in november.


    At our place Webex is currently being threatened by Microsoft Teams, so i think it is in your interest too to deliver a new app that is not worse than the old one.

    This functionality does NOT already exist. I've raised it with support (SR 694233838) and their response was "don't use the app, use the website".
