There needs to be a much better way to manage my list of spaces/durect conversations besides "Favorites" and (essentially) "Everybody Else". Basically, I want the same kind of sorting that I would have in any e-mail client.
Need the ability to create groups (folders)
Multiple people could be placed in these groups
People may be placed into multiple groups
Example: I want the members of my team in one group, and I want to create a group for the committee I'm on, which also includes a person from my team. The team and the committee both have their own Spaces, but I want to keep track of which individuals are on each of those, in case I want to have direct conversations.
Need multiple options for sorting. Minimally:
Alphabetically
Read/Unread
Latest Conversation
Hi, what is the latest on the lead time for this feature?

If it could look like Discord, that would be ideal.

Here is a mock up of what would really help me. Just a basic folder system that I can drag and drop both spaces and/or DMs into.

The current functionality of "last message to the top" could be solved by adding an "Unread" folder, or "Latest", or something along those lines as well. This would help prevent an issue of missing messages.

absolutely need the ability to drag/drop spaces into groups. I am part of many spaces that are externally owned etc that I cant group into my teams. with my spaces list growing every day I definitely need a way that I can effectively 'file' spaces by topic of company that I am working with etc..

In terms of sorting, I would also add the ability to manually sort via drag-and-drop like Slack and MS Teams.
The constant jumping around of spaces based on recent activity requires my brain to find them over and over again. So, yes sorting please. And +1 for manual sort.

As I am participating in more and more events, teams, projects and getting involved in more and more teams or partially only spaces/rooms it gets difficult to still get the overview. The search only helps if I remember the correct names of the rooms. Grouping of the spaces would help a lot.
